In January
2020, The City of Elk Grove, California, became a compassionate city. At least
on paper.
During their
January 8th meeting, the Sacramento suburb issued a proclamation advanced by a
group called Compassionate Elk Grove.
In this edition of Elk Grove News Podcasts, we will take a look at Elk Grove’s proclamation of compassion through a specific lens. That lens was the Elk Grove City Council July 27, 2022, denial of a supportive housing project meant to assist over 60 people transitioning out of homelessness.
And we ask, is the Elk Grove Mayor and City Council compassionate, cowardly, or just 5 WASPs?

This is sounding like a broken record, maybe house a few of them yourself.
It only takes a few brave people like Mr. Myers, Ms. Lewis, and Ms. Wheat to highlight the hypocrisy of our city leaders. Ms. Singh-Allen will prance around Elk Grove in her delusional glory, but when it comes down down to being humane, she and the other four city council members default to fear and ignorance.
And yes, our WASPs leaders cherish animals more than humans. Keep an eye on how glowingly they'll be talking up the proposed zoo in the weeks leading up to the election.
LOL @whitehat
You are affirming the point of the podcast. What a sad, disgraceful mindset. The use of "house a few of them yourself" rings a lot like the folks who did not want to desegregate schools. I bet you buy your dog the best dog food out there though, right?
