According to recent financial disclosures, District 5 Sacramento County Board of Supervisors candidate and Cosumnes Community Services District Director Jaclyn Moreno has received contributions from several fellow Democratic Sacramento area elected officials.
A notable contribution came from Sacramento City Councilmember Angelique Ashby, who is running for District 8 California State Senate. Ashby, who is in a fierce and expensive campaign against fellow Democrat Dave Jones, donated $1,000.
Other elected officials and candidates assisting Moreno include:
- West Sacramento Mayor Martha Guerrera - $2,700
- SMUD Director Dave Tamayo - $2,700
- Hedi Sanborn for SMUD Board - $2,700
Previously Moreno received contributions from these office holders:
- Sacramento City Councilmember Eric Guerra - $750
- SMUD Director Rosanna Herber - $350
Moreno's opponent, Republican Elk Grove City Councilmember Pat Hume, has received a $250 donation from Elk Grove's Democratic Vice Mayor Darren Suen. Additionally, Hume has received $1,300 and $500 from Rancho Cordova City Councilmembers David Sander and Linda Budge and $100 from Sacramento County Supervisor Rich Desmond.
Interestingly Hume received $250 from Elk Grove District 2 City Council Democratic candidate Felipe Martin.

Interesting Hume receiving funding from colleagues that may be from a different political party may seem strange but not really given the office they are running for is non partisan. So who is best suited to represent District 5? Hume has shown for years to be able to work with his colleagues on many boards no matter their political party preferences. It seems Moreno has box herself in a corner as only being able to work with Democrats.
