Guerra campaign has anti-Nguyen website, says she supports Trump-loving and anti-choice elected officials
In what has become an acrimonious election battle, the Eric Guerra campaign has started a website assailing the political credentials of his opponent, Stephanie Nguyen.
Democrats Guerra and Nguyen are competing for the District 10 seat in the California Assembly. The 10th District includes all of Elk Grove, portions of Sacramento, and unincorporated Sacramento County.
On the website, NoWayNguyen.com (see video), Guerra says even though Nguyen claims to be a lifelong Democrat, she was a registered Republican for three years. Guerra also highlighted her endorsement of what he called a Trump-loving sheriff and anti-choice city councilman.
Those politicians are Sacramento County Sheriff Scott Jones and Elk Grove City Councilmember Pat Hume. Jones met with former president Donald Trump, and Hume, who is running for Sacramento County Board of Supervisors District 5 has refused to state his position on reproductive rights.
With this strategy, Guerra is making a direct appeal to District 10 Democratic voters. Although Democrats have more registered voters, with no Republican in the General election, Nguyen has made overtures to the large bloc of conservative voters that could influence the outcome.
