Ashby maintains narrow lead over Jones in State Senate District 8

Vote tallies released this afternoon by Sacramento Voter Registration, and Elections show Angelique Ashby maintaining her narrow lead over Dave Jones.

With 258,266 votes counted and 145,452 remaining countywide, Ashby has 59,159 votes for 51.85 percent. Jones has 54,948 votes for 48.15 percent.

Countywide there are 145,452 uncounted ballots. Based on about 25 percent of the countywide vote in District 8, there are over 36,000 uncounted ballots for this race. 

Short of a concession by Jones, this coming Friday's vote release should determine who wins the hard-fought race.      

Neither candidate issued a statement after today's release, but Ashby posted this on Twitter.
