Let’s get Physical! Or is it Fiscal? With Elk Grove City Councilmember Sergio Robles

To say Elk Grove City Councilmember Sergio Robles is not quite ready for prime time is an understatement.

During his early meetings as a city council member, Robles displayed an utter lack of subject preparation. If that wasn’t enough, after frequently showing social media videos of his alcohol consumption and apparent intoxication, the first-term District 4 council member was arrested by Elk Grove Police on suspicion of drunk driving (see videos below).

During the contentious Oak Rose supportive housing project on September 27, 2023, Robles again showed his need for more understanding of some of a municipality’s most basic governing and financial principles. But Robles shouldn’t feel entirely rotten for his verbal faux pas – at least he tried to use a word close to fiscal.

That more than can be said for Elk Grove Mayor Bobbie Singh-Allen, who was stumped, as seen in the video below. Here’s an idea – someone, anyone at city hall, should have a sit down with Robles, and maybe even the mayor, and give them a list of some basic financial terms.
