As 2024 begins, a question for Elk Grove Mayor Bobbie Singh-Allen and her city council

In the last few months of 2023, the city of Elk Grove produced a slick marketing video highlighting several developments underway in Elk Grove.

While the drone flew over several development sites in the city, we are reminded of a commitment made in June 2022. We genuinely believe that the promise made by Elk Grove Mayor Bobbie Singh-Allen was sincere.

What was that promise? What does it have to do with development and Elk Grove? And most importantly, can Mayor Singh-Allen's sincere promise be fulfilled?

Getting starter homes in Elk Grove is crucial if we want to keep our young people from leaving. I have one friend who had two kids and one of them had to move to Tennessee to afford a house for their young family. I'm not sure the mayor and the city council have the strength to get some starter homes built even if they wanted seeing as how everything is being sold to Bay Area transplants and hedge funds.
