Sacramento Sheriff's gang unit arrest suspect for possession of AR-15, child abuse

The Sacramento Sheriff's Department Gang Suppression Unit arrested a previously arrested person for alleged possession of an AR-15-style weapon, among other charges today.

Detectives in the GSU had been Oak Park Bloods criminal street gang member Daevon Perry,24, and developed information he had an AR15-style pistol. After obtaining a search warrant for Perry's residence, detectives located the AR-15 pistol with an attached loaded 100-round double drum-style magazine, as well as two unregistered handguns with loaded high-capacity magazines and a revolver.

The AR-15 pistol is believed to be a machine gun. Additionally, a four-year-old child was in the residence where the weapons were to the child.

Sacramento Sheriff deputies arrested Perry in August 2023 for possession of an unregistered firearm in public, along with other firearms-related charges. Perry was released without bail.

Perry is currently in custody for possession of an assault weapon, machine gun, and child abuse charges with a $500,000 bail. The suspect's next court date is on January 30.
