Federal Indictment issued for Citrus Heights man for receiving child pornography





An indictment was unsealed in U.S. District Court in Sacramento on Tuesday for a Citrus Heights, Calif. man who allegedly received child pornography. The suspect is 36-year-old Kyle Travis Colton.

Evidence presented showed that between July 2022 and December 2023, Colton received visual depictions of children engaged in sexually explicit conduct. Further details have not been released.

This case is the product of an investigation by the Federal Bureau of Investigation. Assistant U.S. Attorney Whitnee Goins is prosecuting the case.

If convicted, Colton faces a maximum statutory penalty of 20 years in prison and a $250,000 fine. Colton is being held at the Sacramento County Jail and is not eligible for bail

No trial date has been set.
