How dare this mayor and council commit their citizens to a $300,000,000-$400,000,000 potential tax burden without even asking us whether we want a zoo and the accompanying exorbitant costs that will only rise every coming year. A zoo must be maintained 365 days a year 24/7. That's a lot of $$.
Take this into consideration; it's well documented this city can't even run a swimming pool with out numerous law suits and accompanying legal costs, substandard work approved leading to additional increased costs for an amenity that was approved knowing it would be a drain on our taxes, never designed to ever break ever financially. This city is in way over their heads.
Are we sure we want these same leaders designing and approving a $400,000,000 project? Spending this sum of our hard-earned taxes and committing us to a lifetime of taxes requires putting such an endeavor on the ballot for approval. Every one of our council needs to be voted out or recalled. They aren't representing us, they are try to build their legacy at our cost.
- Watch out what you ask for, council!
How do you say...R-e-f-e-r-e-n-d-u-m...?
OTD COST $780million. - Ouch
