District56 Aquatics Center to increase fees to EGUSD swimmers by 20 percent to help 'offset operating costs'

The city of Elk Grove's contract with the Elk Grove Unified School District to provide aquatics facilities to the district's swimming teams will be increased by 20 percent. The school district uses the Elk Grove Aquatics Center at District56 for its student athletes.

The new agreement will be approved on the consent calendar for the Wednesday, April 22, Elk Grove City Council meeting. The school district first contracted with the city in 2021 and the rates have stayed the same.

According to the report, the new agreement will generate $13,500 in annual revenue based on the district's past usage.

As noted in the report recommending the rate increase, "This revenue helps to offset operating costs at the EGAC."
