Cooling Centers Activated Across Sacramento County




Public Service Announcement from Sacramento County | 

The National Weather Service has issued a heat advisory in the Sacramento region June 11 and 12. Cooling centers will be open at the locations, dates, and times listed below. 2-1-1 and 211sacramento.org is the best resource for daily, updated information.

Regional cooling location information:
All community members are welcome. Pets must be on a leash or contained in an animal carrier at all times. The Cooling locations will operate at the following locations, dates, and hours:

North A Emergency Shelter – limited capacity for pets

·        1400 North A Street, Sacramento 1 p.m. - 10 p.m. 6/11 – 6/12

·        Can accommodate up to 45 guests

Outreach and Engagement Center

·        3615 Auburn Blvd: 12 p.m. 6/11 through 8 a.m. 6/13

Sam and Bonnie Pannell Center

·        2450 Meadowview Rd: 8 a.m. - 8 p.m. 6/11 - 6/12

Citrus Heights Police Department - Lobby

·        6315 Fountain Square Drive, Citrus Heights: Lobby will be open until 8:00 p.m. Tuesday, 6/11

·        No pets

Residents in need of respite from the heat are also encouraged to take advantage of natural cooling spaces – such as libraries, shopping centers and community centers.
