Elk Grove City Council meeting, June 12, 2024

Elk Grove City Councilmember Kevin Spease made some forward-thinking suggestions at the end of  Wednesday night's meeting.|  

The Elk Grove City Council held its 11th regular meeting of 2024 on Wednesday, June 12, 2024.

The meeting lasted three hours, and among the highlights was a discussion of the city's 2025 proposed budget. Since City Councilmember Darren Suen skipped the meeting, the budget will not be approved until the June 26 city council meeting.

Additonally, the city council heard a report from the city housing manager, Sarah Bontrager, on the city's Winter Sanctuary homeless shelter that operated in Old Town Elk Grove. The shelter opened on November 1, 2023, and concluded services on April 30, 2024.
