Police investigating double homicide in Elk Grove; Third murder in four days


Elk Grove Police detectives are investigating a double homicide in northeast Elk Grove. 

According to police information, patrol officers responded to the 9000 block of Crosscourt Way following a report of suspicious circumstances. The reporting person had gone to their family's residence after several unsuccessful attempts to contact them. 

Upon entering the home, officers discovered both residents, a man and a woman, deceased inside. Based on the investigation, detectives are treating both deaths as homicides.
 
No information on the estimated period between the murders and the discovery of the victims was released. The Sacramento County Coroner's Office will make identification of the deceased.

Elk Grove Police detectives are also investigating a Tuesday evening shooting at the Holiday Inn Express parking lot that left one person dead. Police say neither the victim nor the unknown suspect were guests at the hotel on Maritime Dr.

Callers to Crime Stoppers can remain anonymous and may be eligible for a reward of up to $1,000.00. Tips can also be sent to EGPD via SMS text message by entering CRIMES (274637) on a cell phone, followed by Tip732 (agency identification number) and the message.
