Volunteers of organization claiming 2022 election fraud present resolution to Galt, Rancho Cordova city councils

United Sovereign Americans volunteer Lisa Matta tells the Galt City Council of their group has evidence of 2022 election fraud. |

This week, volunteers of a group claiming proof of election fraud in the 2022 California elections made the rounds at area city council meetings.

Self-described volunteers of United Sovereign Americans appeared at the Monday Rancho Cordova and Tuesday Galt city council meetings. At each meeting, the volunteers read their Resolution for Legally Valid 2024 elections during public comment on non-agenda matters.

Along with having several volunteers read the entire resolution, two speakers book-ended the appearance by claiming to be non-partisan, and they were not looking to dispute the 2022 results even though they said there were numerous irregularities.

Volunteer Lisa Matta was the first speaker at both meetings for the group. In her remarks, Ms. Matta suggested that the results were non-compliant.

"Our audit of the 2022 election using only the official data provided by state election officials shows the 2022 election may not have been accurate or legally compliant," she said. "The state's official data certified election shows that the votes as counted are not all valid and accurate under the law."

She added, "Tonight we will present to you a resolution demanding an end to the inaccuracy and uncertainty plaguing our elections, along with a summary of our findings and the laws that apply."

Matta did not offer the information but told both city councils they "could provide more details of their findings" if they met with them. She urged the city councils to adopt their resolutions at future meetings.

According to the United Sovereign Americans' website, the group has chapters in 24 states and has "1000s" of members. The website does not list individual chapters, although other information suggests there are chapters in the Sacramento area and Redding.

Interestingly, the group's Rumble channel includes videos of other people speaking on its behalf at city council meetings. This video, posted to their channel, shows a person speaking to the Camarillo, Calif. City Council.

As Ms. Matta did, the Camarillo City Council speaker, using identical language, stressed she was a volunteer and not a spokesperson. Unlike the Galt and Rancho Cordova speakers, the Ventura speakers included a Republican 2024 California State Assembly candidate who doubted the accuracy of election results.

In addition to Camarillo, Galt, and Rancho Cordova, their Rumble channel displays videos of volunteers speaking at recent city council meetings in Filmore, Livermore, Huntington Beach, and Del Mar.

A May 1 Los Angeles Time story titled "Inside the far-right plan to use civil rights law to disrupt the 2024 elections" profiles United Sovereign Americans' co-founder Ms. Marly Hornik when she conducted a workshop in the Sacramento region. The story also outlines their strategy and what the reporters said was "spreading misinformation about elections procedures ..."

The Galt and Rancho Cordova city clerks' offices have not responded to a request for the resolution that was presented to the city councils. Additionally, the national United Sovereign American organization did not respond to an inquiry about whether the group's members would appear at the July 24 Elk Grove City Council meeting.
