EGUSD Trustee challenger leads fundraising race in 3 candidate field

Campaign financial disclosures filed with the Sacramento County Voter Registration and Elections show that one of the challengers for Area 7 of the Elk Grove Unified School District Board of Trustees is leading in the all-important fundraising race.

Two candidates, Heidi Moore and Rehana Rehman, are challenging Carine Forcina, who is seeking a fourth term. Area 7 covers portions of unincorporated Sacramento County and portions of the city of Rancho Cordova served by EGUSD.

California Form 460 shows Moore in first place, having raised $10,470 for six months ending June 30. Moore was the first candidate to enter the race to challenge Forcina.

Among notable contributions to Moore was $2,500 from the Sacramento County Sheriff Deputies Association. Ms. Moore also received $250 from Mr. Randy Bekker, a policy influencer of Elk Grove Mayor Bobbie Singh-Allen and her city council, who has been referred to as the city's sixth council member.

Reman raised $1,175, while Forcina had no fundraising efforts but reported a cash balance of $2.967. In the past, Forcina received significant contributions from labor unions and the Sacramento County Democratic party.

One significant change for EGUSD Trustee elections this year is they are being done on a by-district basis.
