Only one slightly competitive Congressional race in the Sacramento region; How about Gray v. Duarte?

Even though a few swing districts in California are considered crucial to Republican hopes to retain control of the House of Representatives and the Democratic Party's goal of gaining the majority, none of the districts that will determine this are in the Sacramento region.

The closest District race in the Sacramento region is the 13th Congressional District. The 13th District is in the Sacramento TV media market, so TV viewers have undoubtedly seen the ads from Republican incumbent John Duarte and Democratic challenger and California Assemblymember Adam Gray.

Below are the forecasts for California's congressional districts in the Sacramento Region. TheHill.com made the forecasts, and their Congressional database can be viewed here.

District 3

Of the five Sacramento area districts, the race for District 3 between Republican first-term incumbent Kevin Kiley and Democratic challenger Jessica Morse is rated Likely Republican. Kiley is given an 87 percent chance of prevailing.

District 6

Democratic incumbent Ami Bera has a 98 percent chance of winning over Republican challenger Christine Bish. This race is rated Safe Dem. 

  

District  7

Democratic incumbent Doris Matsui has a >99 percent chance of winning over Republican Thomas Silva. The race is rated Safe Dem.  

 District 8 

Democratic incumbent John Garamendi has a >99 percent chance of winning over Republican Rudy Recile. The race is rated as Safe Dem. 

District 9

The one slightly competitive race for an area Democratic incumbent is for Josh Harder, who is being challenged by Stockton Mayor Kevin Lincoln. The race is rated as Likely Dem, with Harder given a 92 percent chance of prevailing. 

District 13

Even though this district is not in the Sacramento Region per se, it is in the Sacramento TV market so chances are anyone who has watched TV in the last few weeks has seen the commercials. Republican incumbent John Duarte is being challenged by Democratic California Assemblymember Adam Gray.

Duarte is given a 63 percent chance of retaining the seat, but is rated as a Toss Up
