Susan Davis projected to unseat Tony Perez for EGUSD Trustee Area 1

Susan Davis will replace Tony Perez on the Elk Grove Unified School District
 Board of Trustees. | 

Voting results released yesterday afternoon show Susan Davis holding a commanding lead over incumbent Tony Perez for the Elk Grove Unified School Trustee Area 1 seat.

The tally shows Davis with 3.617 votes for 60 percent to Perez's 2,355 votes for 39 percent.  The percentage of votes was unchanged from the initial tallies released on Tuesday, November 5.

Perez was seeking his third term. However, comments between Mr. Perez and his colleagues and district staff during board meetings revealed fractious relations. 

In the past, Perez had the support of the Democratic Party, but for this cycle, he had no party endorsement or from Board of Trustee colleagues. Davis was endorsed by the Elk Grove Education Association. 

Based on the current projects, Ms. Davis is the projected winner in Area 1.
