39-Year-old Sacramento Man Struck, Killed While on Bicycle in Elk Grove

A 39-year-old Sacramento man was killed early Friday after being struck by a car while sitting on his bicycle in the roadway, Elk Grove Police said.

Officers responded about 2:33 a.m. to Calvine Road between Bader and Bradshaw roads, where they found the bicyclist dead at the scene, according to police.

Investigators said the man was hit by a white Toyota traveling east on Calvine Road. The driver stopped nearby and remained at the scene, cooperating with officers.

Police said the driver showed no signs of impairment, and detectives do not believe speed was a factor in the crash.

The Sacramento County Coroner’s Office will release the name of the victim after identification.
