UPDATED: Fatal motorcyle-truck collision on Elk Grove-Florin Road under investigation by Elk Grove Police

This morning, the Elk Grove Police Department has reported a fatal collision between a motorcycle and a truck.

The police department posted the information about the Elk Grove-Florin Road incident on social media about two hours. Elk Grove Florin Road is closed between West Camden Drive and Sheldon Road, and no reopening date has been set. 

No further information has been released by the police department regarding the fatality.

The Elk Grove Police Department released the following information regarding the accident:

The Elk Grove Police Department responded to a vehicle versus motorcycle collision on Elk Grove Florin Road, just north of Campbell Road on August 22, 2025 around 6:15 AM. 

 

Upon arrival, officers discovered that the pickup truck pulling a trailer was making a U-turn from northbound Elk Grove Florin Road to southbound Elk Grove Florin when the 21-year-old motorcyclist who was also traveling north on Elk Grove Florin Road broadsided the truck. The motorcyclist was thrown from their motorcycle as a result of the collision and suffered fatal injuries. Medical personnel arrived and determined that the motorcyclist was deceased. Identification of the motorcyclist will be made by the Sacramento County Coroner’s Office.

 

The collision is under investigation at this time.  Anyone with information regarding this fatal traffic collision is asked to call the Elk Grove Police Department Traffic Bureau at (916) 478-8143.
