Armed Gunman Robs Elk Grove Grocery Store

An Elk Grove grocery store was robbed late yesterday afternoon.

According to Elk Grove Police, an unknown suspect entered Sprouts Farmer's Market on Laguna Blvd. and confronted an employee with a handgun The suspect brandished the gun and demanded money from an employee who was standing near the register.

The suspect took an undisclosed amount of cash from the register, fled the store and was last seen running eastbound through the parking lot. Responding officers were unable to locate the suspect and the employee was not injured.

The suspect was described as a black male adult, 30's, 5'8", 190 lbs., wearing a white baseball cap, white t-shirt, dark colored jeans and dark colored tennis shoes.
