Elk Grove City Council candidate Nancy Chaires announced endorsements in her bid for the city's Distirct 4 seat.

The endorsements include the following:

Adam Loveall, President, Sacramento Central Labor Council
Kevin Ferreira, President Ironworkers Union, Local 118
Steven Ramirez, Elk Grove Business Owner/ McDonald's franchisee
Stan Arellano, Elk Grove Business Owner/ Dentist
Jose Reynoso, Elk Grove Business Owner/ Media Consultant
Sandy Waite, Elk Grove Unified School District Nurse and Counselor/ Former Administrator of the Year & Elk Grove Citizen of the Year

Chaires, who is an Elk Grove Planning Commissioner, was the first candidate to formally announce intentions for the seat currently occupied by Bob Trigg. Last Friday Elk Grove Unified School District Trustee Steve Ly filed papers with the Elk Grove City Clerk's office but has not formally announced his candidacy.

Rumor has it that Roger Dickenson has rescinded his endorsment of Chaires and has endorsed Steve Ly.

I hope all the election focus isn't all going to be on this District 4 race as it appears to be already splitting folks.

I am sure Pat Hume is loving it. We need a strong candidate to unseat him in District 2.

I would love to see the Elk Grove Cow Elk go head to head with Councilman Hume. My money would be on Hume, he already took the Cow Elk down once!

I look at a candidates endorsements as an indication of exactly the path they may feel obligated to follow. More important to me is the candidates proven commitment to this community in the past.
