Suspected Shoplifters Allegedly Try Running Over Elk Grove Walmart Employee

An Elk Grove Walmart employee was targeted with a moving car following a shoplifting incident Sunday afternoon.

According to Elk Grove Police, two females suspect were observed shoplifting at the Bruceville Road Walmart. When one of the suspects left the store without paying for the merchandise, a loss prevention employee approached her. The suspect ran towards a car being driven by a female accomplice. 

When the second alleged shoplifter left the store, the employee tried to detain her when the driver exited the car and approached the suspect who was being detained. The other shoplifter got in the drivers seat and started driving toward the employee. 

Fearing for their safety, the employee released their hold of suspect, who the got in the vehicle with the accomplice being driven by the other shoplifter. The vehicle fled northbound on Bruceville Road and was described as a blue Dodge Caliber. 

The first shoplifter was described as a Hispanic female adult in her 20's, 5'2", blonde hair, with a blue shirt, blue jeans and brown boots. The second shoplifter was described as a Hispanic female adult in her 30's, 5'3", heavy set, wearing a white shirt and black pants. The original driver was described as a Hispanic female adult, in her 20's, 5'4", with long brown hair, with a black shirt and jeans.
