Two Suspects Arrested by Elk Grove Police on Several Drug, Firearms Charges After Traffic Stop

Two suspects are being held at the Sacramento County Jail on a multitude of drug and firearm charges after a traffic stop late last night in Elk Grove.

A vehicle being operated by 35-year old Jack Earlmark Lavulo (picture below) of Elk Grove was stopped for a vehicle code violation shortly before midnight by Elk Grove Police on the 9200 block of Laguna Springs Drive. A records check revealed that Lavulo was driving on a suspended license and a passenger, 27-year old Lavinia T. Heleta (picture above) of Elk Grove, was on probation.

A probation search of the vehicle led to the discovery of controlled substances, narcotics, a loaded handgun that had been reported stolen, and a high capacity loaded magazine. Both suspects were arrested and booked into the county jail.

Lavulo and Heleta are being held on nine felony drug and firearm charges and because of the seriousness of the alleged crimes, are not eligible for bail. Arraignment is scheduled for Wednesday afternoon.
