Driver Dies In Struggle With Elk Grove Police Following Wrong-way Crash

The driver of a vehicle who reportedly was driving the wrong-way that caused a four-vehicle crash died last night after struggling with Elk Grove Police.

The driver died after being tasered by police officers.

The incident occurred around 10:45 p.m. after police responded to a four-vehicle collision near Elk Grove Boulevard and Wymark Drive. The victim who was tasered reportedly was involved in the crash.

When police officers tried to contact the unidentified the suspect, the suspect fled on foot but was eventually detained. The driver reportedly struggled with police who then deployed a taser, and as the struggle ensued, the driver became unresponsive.

Officers attempted CPR on the driver before being transferred to an area hospital. No other details on the incident are immediately available.
