September 11, 2017 |

This morning deputies from the Sacramento Sheriff's Department arrested a man suspected of a June 2017 sexual assault of a 12-year old girl.

Steve Vang, 32, of Sacramento, was arrested this morning by Sheriff Department Deputies. Vang was already in custody at the Sacramento County Jail since September 6 where he was being held on unrelated charges.

Vang is accused of sexually assaulting his victim during a June 14 burglary of a residence near 40th Avenue and Martin Luther King Boulevard. During the course of the robbery, Vang allegedly attempted to assault the victim but fled after she fought back.

Vang is being held on a $2 million bail and is scheduled for arraignment on the new charges on September 20.
