Domestic Violence Suspect Arrested After Lengthy Vehicle Pursuit By Elk Grove Police, CHP

A Turlock, California man was arrested after he led law enforcement on a vehicle pursuit following an alleged domestic violence incident.

Just before 10 p.m. on Friday, September 28 Ruben Dias, 38, was involved in a verbal argument at a gas station on East Stockton Boulevard when he grabbed and forced the victim into a vehicle. A witness told the Dias they were calling 911, at which time he entered the car and the victim was able to exit.

Responding officers located the vehicle being driven by Dias and attempted an enforcement stop. Dias headed south on Highway 99 and the pursuit was taken over by California Highway Patrol. 

After disabling the vehicle by undisclosed means, Dias fled on foot but was apprehended by CHP officers. After turning him over to Elk Grove Police, Dias was arrested and booked into the Sacramento County Jail.  

Dias is being held on a $130,000 bail and faces four felony charges. Arraignment is scheduled for Tuesday, September 3.
