School, Church in Elk Grove Evacuated as Law Enforcement Investigate Suspicious Package

Students and staff at Elk Grove's Creekside Church on East Stockton Boulevard have been evacuated after a suspicious package was found earlier this morning.
According to information posted on their social media feeds, the Elk Grove Police have confirmed that a suspicious package was found on the church campus shortly after 10 a.m. today. Staff and students have been safely removed from the premises.
Elk Grove Police are being aided by the Sacramento Sheriff's Department explosive ordinance disposal unit is on the scene. The EOD team determined the package was non-explosive.
More details will be released pending conclusion of the investigation.
UPDATE- (Creekside Church) SSD EOD has determined the package to be non-explosive and safe. Details in regards to the package will be released at a later time pending the outcome of the investigation.— EGPD (@ElkGrovePD) April 9, 2018
