Shoplifting Suspects in Custody After Threatening Elk Grove Hobby Lobby Employee With Stun Gun

Two shoplifting suspects are in custody at the Sacramento County Jail after they allegedly threatened an employee at an Elk Grove retailer. 

According to Elk Grove Police reports, on the late afternoon of Thursday, April 6, the two suspects, Veronica Martinez, 38, and Paul Gonazlez Quiroz, were observed shoplifting at the Hobby Lobby store on East Stockton Boulevard. When a loss prevention employees approached them, Martinez displayed a stun gun and made threats.

The employee, who was not hurt, withdrew, and the suspects fled the store on foot. Responding Elk Grove Police officers apprehended the duo as they exited another nearby store. 

A record check revealed showed both Martinez and Quiroz were on probation. Both suspects have a bail of $195,000 and arraignment is on Monday, April 9.
