3-year-old in critical condition in South Sacramento shooting

Sacramento County Sheriff detectives are investigating a shooting that has critically wounded a 3-year-old child in a South Sacramento neighborhood.

Sheriff's deputies responded to the 7400 block of Della Circle around 9:30 p.m. on Wednesday, September 11 after receiving calls of a child being shot while inside a residence. The shots are believed to have come from outside the dwelling near the street.

When deputies arrived, the child had been taken to an area hospital by a private vehicle. Sheriff’s detectives are interviewing witnesses and gathering evidence in an attempt to develop a clear understanding of what took place.
