UPDATED December 26 |

A Sacramento man was arrested late last night after allegedly shooting at an Elk Grove Police officer.

The incident happened in the Vintage Park area of unincorporated Sacramento, just north of Elk Grove northern boundary.

The incident stemmed from an unrelated incident where Elk Grove Police were in a vehicle pursuit.  During the pursuit, suspects in the vehicle threw an object and police were attempting to locate them.

When the suspect saw the officers looking for the items, he told the officers to get off his property, officers identified themselves as law endorsement and said they were not on his property. In response, the male suspect fired a round at the officers.

Police established a perimeter near the Elk Grove-Florin Road and Vintage Park Drive scene and the suspect was taken into custody. There were no injuries.
