Shoplifting suspect aims car at Elk Grove store employee, charged with assault

A suspect who was apprehended after shoplifting is in custody at the Sacramento County Jail facing additional charges of assault with a deadly weapon.

Just after noon on Tuesday, June 18 Tina Wilson, 50, of Sacramento was observed shoplifting merchandise at the Winco grocery store on Sheldon Road. After being confronted, Wilson turned over the merchandise.
The suspect then entered her car and drove it at high speed in the direction of the employee and other bystanders. The victims got out of the way, and Wilson fled the parking lot.

Wilson was located by responding Elk Grove Police officers. Wilson is held on misdemeanor shoplifting, and felony assault charges with arraignment on Thursday, June 20.
