Suspects arrested for prostitution solicitation in Elk Grove as part of region-wide sting

Two men arrested on suspicion of soliciting prostitution at an Elk Grove hotel were taken into custody as part of a region-wide sting operation.

The suspects were arrested by Elk Grove Police at the Extended Stay America hotel on Longport Court on Thursday, November 14.

The arrests were part of the third annual region-wide "Operation: Hot Spots" organized by the Sacramento District Attorney's office. The two-month operation, which to date has resulted in 19 arrests, included participation by Sacramento County Sheriff’s Office, Sacramento Police Department, Rancho Cordova Police Department, Folsom Police Department, and Elk Grove Police Department who conducted street and hotel sting operations with participation from the FBI, Probation Department and District Attorney investigators.

“Sacramento Together continues to work collaboratively to fight human trafficking on many fronts, including reducing the demand side through city and countywide stings targeting sex buyers," Sacramento County District Attorney Ann Marie Schubert said. "This coalition also continues to maximize their efforts to prevent and better serve victims of sexual and labor exploitation throughout our region.”

Both suspects have been released on bail.
