Elementary school student in Elk Grove Unified District tested positive for COVID-19 virus

has tested postive for the COVID-19 virus the Elk Grove Unified School District announced this afternoon.
The family had been put on quarantine after two family members were exposed to the virus. The family who has dour school-age children at two district schools and only one, an elementary school student, has tested positive for the virus.
The school district was notified on Friday by the Sacramento County Public Health Department that the family had been placed in quarantine. As a result of the report, the school district decided to suspend all classes and activities this week.
The age and school where the child who tested postive attends have not been disclosed. The district canceled a 4 p.m. news conference they had scheduled for this afternoon.
