Three suspects arrested for early morning catalytic converter heist in Elk Grove





Three suspects were arrested by Elk Grove Police in the early morning hours of Tuesday, July 6 on suspicion of stealing catalytic converters. 

After being stopped by Elk Grove Police shortly after 2:30 a.m near Egret Drive and Bond Road for a vehicle code violation, a records check revealed one occupant had outstanding arrest warrants and another was on probation. 

A probation search of the vehicle led to the discovery of cut catalytic converters, burglary tools, controlled substances drug paraphernalia, and indicia related to narcotic sales. The victim of the theft was located and confirmed the theft of the converters.

Suspect Lili Huynh, 35, of Sacramento is in custody at the county jail and along with the arrest charges, has outstanding warrants from Davis and Santa Clara County. Huynh is not eligible for bail and will be arranged on July 8. 

Richard James Vang, 31, of Sacramento is in custody at the county jail ineligible for bail and will be arraigned on July 8. The third suspect, Ou Saechao, 36, of West Sacramento, has been released.
