In sign of the tight labor market, SacRT offering $2,000 bonus for new drivers

An indication of the tight labor market is demonstrated with driver recruitment efforts by Sacramento Regional Transit. As part of two job fairs, the transit provider is offering a $2,000 bonus for new bus drivers.

In their press release, the transit agency said:

SacRT is hiring several bus driver positions, including full-time and part-time positions, and will provide paid training and assistance with obtaining necessary permits and licenses. SacRT is also hiring maintenance personal for light rail; bus mechanics; and facilities service workers.

Candidates should bring a valid ID, employment history (last 10 years of work), residential history and conviction history (last seven years), and a DMV driver record print out.

SacRT is offering free rides for candidates attending the hiring events, they simply need to print or screenshot the free ride flyer. If a candidate is unable to attend an in-person hiring event, SacRT has an online career portal at sacrt.com/careers.
