Nguyen works to narrow funding gap in California 10th Assembly district race

Even though she trails one of her three opponents in the all-important fundraising contest, California 10th Assembly District candidate Stephanie Nguyen has received sizable donations this week. Nguyen, an Elk Grove City Councilmember receives $27,400 in contributions this week.
Among her notable contributions were the following:
  • California Assemblymember Jim Cooper - $4,900
  • John Reyen, dba Elk Grove Land Investment - $4,900
  • Viegas Tribal Governement - $4,900
  • Reynolds LLC - $2,450
  • Martin Feletto - $1,225
The remainder of the donations came from individuals.

Nguyen was a late entrant into the race for the new district that includes all of Elk Grove, portions of unincorporated Sacramento County, and most of Sacramento south of downtown. Although there are four candidates seeking the vacant seat, Eric Guerra has maintained a significant fundraising lead starting 2022 with $325,000 in his campaign account.

With these donations, Nguyen has approximately $85,000 in campaign funds. The other two candidates, Eric Rigard and Dr. Tecoy Porter have not reported any recent donations.
