Detrick decides against run for Elk Grove City Council

In a press release issued yesterday, Elk Grove resident Steve Detrick said he has decided against making a run for the city council. There has been much speculation Detrick would have opposed incumbent district 3 council member Mike Leary.

In his statement Detrick said:

"I am following up on the question that has been asked frequently by my family, friends, neighbors, colleagues, several Elk Grove City Council Members/Planning Commissioners, many Citizens of Elk Grove, Businesses, Developers, Unions/Union Members, and the media, are you going to run for Elk Grove District 3 City Council Seat? Even though the support from every one of you to run has been overwhelming and I have taken several months to investigate the possibility, at this time, the answer is No.

I have spent the last few years on the Citizen side of issues and will continue to support issues that I believe will be in the best interest of the City of Elk Grove and the majority of its Citizens.
