Press release from City of Elk Grove
Elk Grove, CA - The City of Elk Grove is launching a special effort this month to maintain the beauty of Elk Grove by keeping the city free from blight. Elk Grove’s “Spring Cleaning” program kicks off tomorrow.
This month, the City of Elk Grove’s Community Enhancement officers will be working proactively with the community on an extra effort to crack down on serious nuisances in neighborhoods citywide. Officers will be concentrating on properties with junk and debris, inoperable or abandoned vehicles and abandoned homes. The goal is to inspect every street in the city by the end of this month.
“The city and community’s partnership to address blight in Elk Grove sends a strong message about the strength of our neighborhoods and pride of ownership in Elk Grove,” said Mayor Gary Davis. “Together, we will address the bad apples, and preserve the quality of life our residents enjoy.”
The Community Enhancement officers will be armed with Elk Grove’s Nuisance Code, which provides officers enforcement tools to deal with unsightly junk, abandoned homes, unmaintained property, and other eyesores. The city will also be executing several abatement warrants, allowing Community Enhancement officers the ability to clean and maintain a neglected property themselves.
For more information, or to report a nuisance, call the City of Elk Grove’s Community Enhancement Department at 916-687-3023.
