Arrest made in Gem Crest Way shooting

ELK GROVE, CA – On June 11, 2008, Detectives from the Elk Grove Police Department arrested 27-year-old Michael Witkin in connection with a shooting that occurred in the 9200 block of Gem Crest Way on June 6, 2007. Witkin was already in custody for a parole violation, and he was additionally charged with attempted murder (664/187 PC), assault with a deadly weapon (245(a)(2) PC), residential robbery (212.5 PC), and possession of a firearm by ex-felon (12021 PC).

Detectives have determined that Michael Witkin was responsible for shooting Mia Zepata and pistol-whipping Adrien Abeyta on the front porch of the Gem Crest Way residence.
