Another day, another Elk Grove purse snatching

This time it's at Raley's; targeted victims frequently Asian females


Tuesday there was another grocery store parking lot purse snatching. This one occurred at the Raley's on Elk Grove Blvd. and Franklin Blvd.

Unlike other recent incidents, Elk Grove police were able to apprehend the suspects. Arrested were 20 year old Darrien Norman and a 17 year old male juvenile. Norman was transported to the county jail and the juvenile was placed in Juvenile Hall.

The modus operandi of the purse snatching typically includes two youth/young adults targeting unaccompanied females. A favorite spot for the snatchers have been in grocery market parking lots and Asian females have been frequent targets.
