With record high copper prices, various crackheads, cons and crooks in general have been targeting empty houses and anything that has copper attached to it to cash in.

Elk Grove has not been immune from this nationwide crime wave.

But alas, sometimes the crooks get caught. Just ask suspected copper crook John Ryzak.

Ryzak was apprehended by Elk Grove police late Wednesday night after he removed copper tubing from the roof of several businesses located on the 9300 block of Elk Grove Blvd. Ryzak was arrested and transferred to the main jail.

Good thing for John Ryzak that the person that used his name in this copper capper did'nt look enough like him to get away with giving his name instead of his own. John cosernettoa was also charged with giving a false name to officers.

Setting it stright.
