Cops respond to attempted robbery, car and catalytic converter thieves amongst several arrest


The weekend ending 6:00 am this Monday morning, was a very busy one for Elk Grove Police. There were 18 arrest made in conjunction with a variety of alleged crimes.

One case in which there were no arrest made was the attempted robbery of 50 year male on the 5100 block of Tegan Rd. According to police reports, the victim was approached by seven to ten male juveniles who demanded money.

The victim was truck from behind by one suspect and knocked to the ground. While on the ground, another suspect demanded money of the victim.

The victim broke free and and sough help from a neighbor. Officer located several individuals but were unable to confirm their involvement.

Early Saturday morning police caught three male juveniles who were attempting to steal a vehicle on Springhurst Dr. After being spotted, the trio fled.

With the help of Sacramento County Sheriffs helicopter and the K-9 unit, the three juveniles were apprehended and transferred to juvenile hall.

Early Monday morning police observed and arrested Seam Whiteside (27) and Tim Fifer (27) for possession of 16 stolen catalytic converters and a hydraulic cutting tool. The arrest was made at Brown Rd. and Heritage Hill Dr.
