Dan Logue, candidate for state assembly accused of real estate fraud in civil lawsuit

Conservative Dan Logue, Chair of the Yuba County board of supervisors was looked to be on his way to an easy election this fall to the state assembly in the heavily Republican populated 3rd state assembly district.

Along the way though, things might not be as easy as Logue and his contributors have anticipated. Seems like the foreclosure crisis that has hit so many families, particularly in this area, is finally giving some blowblack.

The blowback seems to be aimed at all those mortgage and real estate brokers who got families into questionable deals.

The lawsuit, filed by Lewis and Christina Heflen alleges Logue sold them a property in 2004 that he said was a house when if fact it turned out to be modular (mobile) home.

According to a lawsuit filed against Logue in Yuba County Superior Court, Logue misrepresented the sale of a house to a family several years back. Purchased for $324,900 in 2004, the dwelling is now valued at $190,000.

The Heflen's discovered that their house was not a house in the strict sense of the word, when they tried to refinance last year.

For his part, Logue has called Heflen's lawsuit "frivolous" and that he will fight "to the ends of the earth"
