Armed shotgun robbery tops list
For the period ending early Monday morning, of the 12 notable events listed by the police, the armed robbery Saturday night was the most significant.
According to police reports, suspect James Benefield and Danielle Bundy entered the Performance Auto Shop on 8900 Elk Grove Blvd and brandished a shotgun and demanded cash from the victims. Benefield and Bundy engaged in a struggle with one of the victims and struck the victim with the shotgun. The victim suffered minor injuries.
Both suspects fled the scene but soon hit another vehicle and fled the scene. A witness to the hit-and-run followed the suspects. Officers with the help of K-9's and the STAR helicopter soon located both suspects who were arrested and transferred to the maim jail.
