Sophia Scherman gets police endorsement

Elk Grove city council member announced today she has received the endorsement of the Elk Grove Police Officers Association.

"Council member Sophia Scherman has been a consistent and reliable friend to Elk Grove Police Officers," said Sergeant James Fuller, President, Elk Grove Police Officers' Association in a press release from the Scherman's campaign. "She's fighting to put more officers on the streets, to help keep response time low, and she is pushing tough penalties on street racers."

Scherman, a two-term incumbent is being challenged by Bob Felts, KT Khan and Katherine Maestas. The police officers earlier endorsed Steve Detrick in his bid against two-term incumbent Mike Leary, a lieutenant with the Sacramento Sheriffs Dept.
