Our favorite mailers - Elk Grove city council race

Only four candidates for the Elk Grove city council have the funds required for mailers. They are Jim Cooper, Steve Detrick, Mike Leary and Sophia Scherman.

Cooper's and Scherman's were pedestrian at best - they had no candidate who had the cash to afford an opposing mailer.

Detrick and Leary on the other hand, had some pretty good mailers. Our favorite from Detrick was the so-called Leary v. Leary mailer.








Our favorite from Leary was the 10,000 job growth mailer using the recently shuttered Elk Grove Brewery. Not only is Leary's claim an out-right lie, karma bit him by using a business that had closed while the very mailer was being printed. Talk about bad luck.





Still, there is no telling how the Detrick-Leary race will shake out.
