Scherman to pitch in for food drive

Elk Grove city council member Sophia Scherman will be collecting turkeys, food and cash donations for the Elk Grove Community Food Bank tomorrow, Saturday 22, at the Elk Grove City Hall.

The Elk Grove food bank is in dire need of turkeys for Thanksgiving meals. According to Scherman's press release the food bank "has just enough turkeys to serve meals for only half an hour."

The food bank plans to distribute the turkeys and other groceries on Tuesday, November 25 at 10:30 AM.

City hall is located at 8380 Laguna Palms Way. Scherman will be accepting donations on behalf of the food bank from 10 AM until 12 noon.
