The City of Elk Grove encourages residents with community planning interests to apply for appointment to the position of Planning Commissioner.
The Elk Grove Planning Commission consists of five members, appointed by and acting in an advisory capacity to the City Council. The Commission considers and advises the City Council on General Plan amendments, and hears matters related to zoning regulations, development proposals, and other matters as specified in the Planning and Zoning Law, and as directed by the City Council.
Applicants must be at least 18 years of age, reside in the City of Elk Grove and be registered to vote. Members may not be an officer or employee of the City. Members may not be an elected or appointed official of another public entity whose jurisdiction includes any portion of the City. Planning Commissioners sit for two year terms at the pleasure of the City Council.
A Fact Sheet and application are available at the Office of the City Clerk, 8380 Laguna Palms Way, Suite 200, Elk Grove, California 95758 and are posted on the City’s website at www.elkgrovecity.org. Appointees will be required to take an Oath of Allegiance and disclose personal assets and interests as required by the Political Reform Act. Completed applications must be returned to the City Clerk no later than Friday, January 2, 2009 at 5:00 p.m.
