Press release from Elk Grove Community Connection

The Elk Grove City Council is planning for our future now!

Public input is paramount in the planning of our city’s Civic Center. Planned right, the civic center will be the hub of our city; it can be the center of our city’s cultural life and more. It can spur economic development, more inviting for both businesses and residents. Our civic center will enhance our city’s image and identity.

But your input is vital! Please join Mayor Patrick Hume and the members of the Elk Grove City Council on Wednesday, January 7, 2009, for this last public outreach meeting before the council’s retreat. This summit meeting is important at this time, according to City Manager Laura Gill, "so that we could have time to incorporate comments and ideas from the forum into the council presentation on 2/5."

"The Civic Center project is perhaps a once in a lifetime opportunity for residents and stakeholders to weigh in on what amenities are needed to help move Elk Grove forward into the next chapter toward our highest potential," says Mayor Hume. Please take a moment to join us and share your thoughts on what public cultural, civic and recreational components you'd like to see."
