Elk Grove Police arrested three male juvenile suspects early Saturday evening as they attempted to burglarize a house on the 9500 block of Timber River Way.
According to police reports, officers responded to a call when witnesses saw the three teenagers knock on the front door before one of the suspects went to the backyard of the same house. Witnesses told police they saw the two other suspects attempting to gain access to another nearby residence.
Responding to the call, police officers found all three a short distance from the original house. Witnesses positively identified all three teenagers and police took them into custody.
During the course of the investigation, one of the 15 year old suspects gave officers a false name and was found to be on probation. The same suspect was found to be in possession of burglary tools.
All three juveniles, Elk Grove residents, were transferred to juvenile hall.
